The Clean Future Solar Farm

Coming Soon: Another exciting clean energy project with associated solar and battery energy storage from PS Renewables.

PS Renewables is proud to be bringing forward another clean energy project, a project that would enable energy security, enhance biodiversity, improve natural food security, create clean jobs and as always, contribute towards Clean Air.

The project

The UK needs a fivefold increase in the amount of energy it generates by 2035 as it eliminates polluting fossil fuels. This project would provide up to 500 megawatts of clean, renewable energy directly into the National Grid using existing infrastructure.

We have a contracted connection with National Grid connecting into an existing substation in 2033 for a solar and associated renewable energy project.

As with all of PS Renewables developments, it would contribute towards a clean energy ecosystem, allowing for more renewable energy. The project would also generate local jobs and come with a dedicated community benefit fund.

At this stage, we are looking at the potential for locating the project on some of the land in the area of search below, in discussion with landowners.

We do not expect to use all of the land in the area of search.

Given the nature of the proposed development, it will be classified as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP). We expect to submit an application for development consent to the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) in 2027 and will consult on our plans before then.

If you are interested in your land being in the project or have any questions, please contact info@psrenewables.com

About PS Renewables

The UK has set a target for clean power by 2030, to help in the fight against climate change while supporting energy security and helping to reduce energy costs.

As the UK cuts reliance on fossil fuels, it needs new renewable energy resources, like wind and solar, to come online. At the same time, demand for electricity is set to double by 2050, as we all shift away from gas boilers and traditional cars to heat pumps and electric vehicles. This means there is an urgent need to develop clean, affordable energy.

Solar farms have a major role to play in meeting this need. The UK is a good location for solar power. Technology has advancedrapidly in recent years, so that panels can absorb energy even on cloudy days, and rainy weather helps keep the panels clean and cool.

In general, solar farms are good habitats, where wildlife can flourish. They do not need to apply any chemical fertlisers or pesticides and require little activity for maintenance. This allows a diverse ecosystem to thrive under and around the panels. Once installed, solar farms are quiet neighbours.

Established in 2012, PS Renewables is one of the largest renewable energy development and construction companies within the UK. We are making a major contribution to the UK’s journey to clean power, with over 7 gigawatts of projects in development today.
